At Patagonia, all design was handled in-house. As art director, Wynne teamed with a photo editor, copywriter, design and production staff and management to produce catalogs, print advertising, store signage and design. Photo shoots of clothing took several weeks at a photo studio using brick layer knee pads scooting around on the floor, adjusting material to accentuate shadowing and highlights. Patagonia was just opening their own stores, from the high end, Great Pacific Patagonia in San Francisco, to affordable seconds, Cheap Sports in Salt Lake City and Ventura. Approximately six weeks were spent at Dai Nippon in Tokyo overseeing the press check for several catalogs.
